Police Directed To Improve Security Of Parliament Lodges

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th july, 2016) : Senate House Committee on Thursday directed Islamabad police to improve security of Parliament lodges to avoid incidents of steeling valuables from rooms. The body met here under the chair of Deputy Chairman Senate, Molana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri and attended by Senator Tahir Mashhadi, IGP Islamabad Tariq Masood Yasin, Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) Maroof Afzal. The committee chairman expressed displeasure over the incident of steeling valuables from lodges rooms. The committee decided to conduct meeting of Deputy Chairman Senate, Deputy Speaker National Assembly and IGP Islamabad to prepare plan for security improvement of Parliament Lodges. The committee chairman said it must be identified that whether the thieves were insiders or outsiders.
The Chairman CDA on the occasion briefed the committee about construction work of new residential blocks in Parliament lodges. Abdul Ghafoor Haideri expressed concern over the slow pace of work on construction of new residential blocks and bad cleaning system in Parliament Lodges. He directed the Chairman CDA to come up with a concrete plan for the project within 15 days.
He asked the CDA to expedite the work on new blocks and made a comprehensive plan for improving cleanliness system and look after affairs of lodges building. The committee chairman also directed the officials of Islamabad Electricity Supply Company (IESCO) to charge the electricity bills to the senators residing in Parliament Lodges since they took possession of residences.
