MIPRPUR (AJK) , J(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point news - 28th july, 2016): Azad Jammu & Kashmir Accountability Bureau Thursday arrested three under-trial officers of the AJK Small Industries Department including its Head in corruption charges of embezzlement of the public money, it was officially declared. The arrested officials including Waheed Ahmed Mughal, Director AJK Small Industries, Basharat Hussain Haideri, Deputy Director, and Muhammad Iqbal Mughal, Assistant Director of the same department, a handout issued by the Press Information Department of AJK on Thursday said. All the three accused were nabbed from the premises of the learned AJK Accountability (Ehtesab) Court Muzaffarabad comprising Judge Mr.

Tariq Iqbal Lone, on Thursday after their bail-before- arrest was canceled by the above learned Accountability Court. The arrested accused were later shifted to the AJK Accountability Bureau's Theory Rest House in outskirt of Muzaffarabad. The case of embezzlement of public funds to the tune of millions of rupees belonging to the department, and misuse of powers was under trial in the AJK Accountability Court Muzaffarabad.

They were allegedly found digesting public money through granting, to an individual - namely Awal Khan Pathan, the contract of the auction of the building material of the triple-story building of the AJK Small Industries Department, that had turned in to rubble in October 08, 2005 deadly earthquake.

The ruble included high valuables located in the Emporium in the same building. The committee of the Small Industries Department comprising arrested accused officials, according to the prosecution, had not followed the officially-determined procedure of granting contact, through inviting applications through the public advertisement for granting the contract of auction.

Besides the arrested accused had also been charged for misappropriation of funds of Rs. 12.50 lakh belonging to the local industrialists and handicraft masters. The learned court also granted the physical remand of all the three arrested accused till August 06, 2016 and further investigations are in progress.
