MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Jan, 2017 ) : The ongoing spell of rains in Punjab would have a positive impact on crops and orchards and reduce environmental pollution, agriculture experts said on Thursday.
Assistant Director Agriculture Information Naveed Asmat Kahlon said in a statement that rain would be beneficial for wheat, sugarcane, maize, vegetables, fodder, pulses including gram and masoor and orchards.
Lack of rains in Punjab affected crops adversely during the last few months and environment pollution also increased, causing various diseases among people. The expert, however, cautioned farmers against the risk of growth of weeds in post-rain scenario and called upon them to take timely steps to counter the threat.
