Sahiwal, Rawalpindi, Hyderabad, Mardan Enter Into All-Pakistan Girls Inter-Board TT Championship Semi-finals

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Jan, 2017 ) : Sahiwal, Rawalpindi, Hyderabad and Mardan took berth into the semi-finals of the All-Pakistan Girls Inter-Board Table Tennis Championship being played at Govt Girls Degree College Takhtbhai, District Mardan on Wednesday.
Director sports BISE Mardan Muhammad Sabir was the chief guest on this occasion. Principal Govt Girls Degree College Prof. Tanzim Bibi, Organizing Secretary and Assistant Director Asia Noor, Director Physical education and Sports Govt Girls Degree College Amina Khan, players and officials were also present.
In the first quarter-final BISE Rawalpindi defeated BISE Peshawar by 3-0. In the first singles Sonia of Rawalpindi defeated Laiba of Peshawar in a marathon five sets battle, the score was 6-11, 7-11, 11-9 and 11-8.
Both Sonia and Laiba played well and gave each other a tough fight by some beautiful smashes and spin services were also witnessed. In the second singles Nimra of Rawalpindi board beat Zanab Khan by 3-0, the score was 11-9, 11-8 and 11-7 and in the third singles Reemsha beat Saman by 3-1, the score was 11-8, 11-6, 7-11 and 11-9.
In the second quarter-final Sahiwal Board beat Larkana by 3-0, in the first singles Huma beat Mahlaka by 3-0, the score was 11-9, 12-10 and 13-11, Reemsha beat Aysia by 3-0, the score was 11-9, 11-8 and 11-6 and in the last singles Tania beat Marwa by 3-1, the score was 11-13, 11-9, 11-7 and 12-10.
In the Hyderabad beat Lahore Board by 3-0, in the first singles Saba beat Abeera Khan by 3-0, the score was 11-9, 11-7 and 11-9, Saima beat Ume Laila by 3-0, the score was 11-9, 11-8 and 11-6 and in the third singles Kiran beat Tayyaba by 3-0, the score was 11-6, 11-7 and 11-8.
In the fourth quarter-final Mardan was shocked by Sahiwal by 3-0, in the first singles Huma beat Shabab by 3-0, the score was 11-9, 11-8 and 11-7, in the second singles Reemsha beat Saman by 3-0, the score was 11-9, 11-7 and 11-7 and in the last singles Tania defeated Khatijah by 3-1, the score was 5-11, 11-9, 12-10 and 11-9.
Now from group-A Sahiwal got first position, followed by Mardan and from group-B Rawapindi and Hyderabad took first and second position with Sahiwal will face Hyderabad in the first sem-final and Rawalpindi will clash against host Mardan in the second semi-finals to be played on Thursday along with the final and third position matches of the Championship.
DEO District Mardan Miss Samina Ghani will grace the occasion as chief guest at the final and third position.
