LAHORE, (Pakistan Point News - 28th july, 2016) : The Punjab government is taking all necessary steps to ensure provision of basic health facilities to people in the best possible way. This was stated by principal, Post-Graduate Medical Institute (PGMI), Lahore General Hospital, Professor Khalid Mahmood, on Thursday. Talking to APP, Dr Khalid said that the provincial government was aiming at ensuring quality healthcare facilities to people by providing them with state-of-the-art hospitals and services.
"The Punjab government was facing a serious challenge in matching the supply of healthcare resources with the growing demand on account of population growth, improving socio- economic drivers and increasing diseases due to people's lifestyle," Dr Khalid added. To provide quality healthcare, education and modern medical facilities, Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has set up multi-specialty hospitals, medical colleges and medical research institutes across the province, he added.
