CM Directs To Expedite Work On City's Rehabilitation, Reconstruction

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Jan, 2017 ) : Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, Pervez Khattak here Monday directed to speed up work on reconstruction and rehabilitation of Peshawar roads, pavement of streets and carry out expeditious beautification of provincial metropolis.

He was presiding over a high level meeting to discuss beautification, construction and rehabilitation work on roads and flyovers. Senior Minister Local Government, Inayatullah, Chief Secretary, Administrative secretaries, Commissioner Peshawar, DG Peshawar Development Authority and others attended the meeting.

The Chief Minister formed a committee to identify reasons for sketching out making payment to National Construction Company for undertaking different packages including the flyovers, beautification and reconstruction and rehabilitation of roads in Peshawar city.

The committee would be headed by Secretary LG with members including Secretaries Communication and works, Finance, DG Peshawar Development Authority and representative of NLC. Chief Minister said that the internal reconstruction and rehabilitation of city roads would cost Rs 2.2 billion which has already been arranged and transferred.

He also directed to initiate work on Zakori level II and Warsak Road flyovers to ensure smooth vehicular traffic. He also directed work on Palosi road. The government would pay 50 percent on mobilization to NLC, the rest of the payment would be made as per agreed formula.
