PAL-Writers Cafe organises literary session with Neelofar Iqbal

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Jan, 2017 ) : Pakistan academy of Letters (PAL) - Writers Cafe Friday organised a literary session with a famous short story writer Neelofar Iqbal in its series 'Meet a writer over a cup of tea'.

The session was attended by renowned writers and scholars including Uxi Mufti, Kishwar Naheed, Qaisra Alvi, Hasan Abass Razza, Iqbal Afaqi, Fareeda Hafeez, Humaira Ishfaq, Ayesha Masood, Najia Arif, Abid Taqi, Ahmed Javed, Mahboob Zafar, Mazhar Masood, Dr.

Rashid Hameed and M Masood Iqbal Hashmi. They discussed work of Neelofar Iqbal and shed light on the her literary background. Speaking on the occasion, Neelofar Iqbal said she was found of reading books from her early age, adding, she used to read English literature most of the time which motivated her for writing.

She also read urdu literature. Welcoming writers and scholars, Chairman PAL Dr. Muhammad Qasim Bughio said Writers' Cafe was serving as the centre for public-intellectual discourse where writers, poets, artists and journalists meet and discuss contemporary literary issues over a cup of tea.

Neelofar Iqbal writes about contemporary urban themes and extraordinary moments in lives of ordinary people. She has a pleasant, unpretentious style which contributes to readability of her stories. On the basis of her literary output, she can easily be regarded as one of the most readable and interesting short story writers today.
