Martyrs Of BKU Remember On First Anniversary

CHARSADDA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Jan, 2017 ) : The faculty members and students Friday observed the first anniversary of the deadly terrorist attack on Bacha Khan University (BKU) here as the university remained closed throughout the day to remember their innocent fellows killed on this sorrowing day.

On this ill-fated day the terrorists taking advantage of the fog attacked Bacha Khan University Charsadda at around 09:58 am, martyring 18 innocent students and staff members and injuring 18 others.

However the police and commandos of Pakistan Army killed all the four terrorists on the scene.

The university administration had formed a nine-member committee to observe the anniversary event in a memorable way to pay homage to their martyred fellows.

Registrar of the university Salim Shah said after the formal ceremony to remember the departed souls of martyrs at the campus floral wreaths were laid on the martyrs' monument. He said the event concluded with collective prayers.

Subsequent to the attack the security forces had arrested five facilitators of the terrorists named Adil, Noorullah, Riaz, Zia and Ibrahim during action in two areas of Mardan district.
