CPWB Hands Over 3,420 Runaway Children To Parents

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th july,2016) : A family tracing team of the Child Protection and Welfare Bureau (CPWB) has handed over 3,420 runaway and street children to their parents during seven months of 2016. According to a spokesman for the CPWB on Thursday, the Lahore office handed over 686 runaway children to their parents, Faisalabad 481, Gujranwala 727, Multan 445, Rawalpindi 602, Sialkot 338 and Bahawalpur office sent 141 children to their homes.
He added that the department still had 147 children at their offices set up in different cities and efforts were being made to send them to their parents. Chairperson CPWB Saba Sadiq appealed to people to inform the department immediately about any street or runaway child calling on helpline 1121.
