Rains, Snowfall Likely In Coming Week

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Jan, 2017 ) : Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted more rains and snowfall over hills during the coming week. According to a spokesman, a strong weather system (westerly wave) is expected to produce more rains/ snowfall over hills in the country during the coming week.
In Balochistan, rains with snowfall over hills are expected at a number of places from Monday to Wednesday. Heavy snowfall is expected over hills of Quetta, Zhob and Kalat divisions on Tuesday and Wednesday.
In Sindh, rains with thunderstorm are expected at scattered places on Tuesday and Wednesday. In Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and FATA, rains with snowfall over hills are expected at most places from Monday to Thursday.
Intermittent heavy snowfall may occur over hills of FATA, Malakand and Hazara divisions on Wednesday and Thursday.
In Punjab and Islamabad, rains with snowfall over hills are expected at a number of places from Monday to Thursday.
Intermittent heavy snowfall may occur over hills of Murree and Galliyat from Tuesday to Thursday. In Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, rains with snowfall over hills are expected at a number of places from Monday to Thursday.
Intermittent heavy snowfall may occur over hills of G-B and Kashmir from Tuesday to Thursday. Also, rains may trigger landslides in the vulnerable areas of KP, G-B and Kashmir. Isolated heavy falls may generate flash floods in the local streams of Balochistan.
Due to expected heavy snowfall in mountain areas, the public is advised to follow NDMA/ NHA instructions about road conditions.
