Smuggler With 10kg Hashish Arrested

Gilgit, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Jan, 2017 ) : Gilgit Police have arrested a drug smuggler and recovered 10kg hashish from his car here the other day. Gilgit police said the man was arrested when he was trying to enter Gilgit city allegedly to deliver the drugs.

The accused, a resident of Jalkot, Kohistan has been identified as Abdul Qudoos son of Muhammad Hassan. The arrest reportedly came after an informer tipped off the police. A barricade was set up near Sakwar, and the smuggler was arrested with possession of drugs.

It is pertinent to note that numbers of hashish addicts have increased exponentially in the Gilgit-Baltistan region. The public circles have for long been demanding strict action against the suppliers of the drug.
