Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Jan, 2017 ) : M.T IGLC Anka carrying LPG took berths at Engro Vopak Terminal on Thursday. Meanwhile four more ships CCNI Arauco, Sea Danse, King Dorian and Globe Tanya with containers, furnace oil and LPG also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim (PQ) during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was observed at the port at 60% on Thursday where a total of nine ships namely Maersk Salina, Shadong Hai Yao, Achilles- 5, IGLC Anka, Nordic Gas, Umm Bab, Grand Ace-2, Golden Pacific and Lahore are currently occupying berths to load/offload Containers, Coal, Soya Bean Seeds, LPG, LNG, Palm oil and Furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood 180,990 tonnes comprising 141,736 tonnes import cargo and 39,254 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,322 containers TEUs) 1,256 imports TUEs & 2,066 TUEs exports) was handled at the port during last 24 hours.

Two ships Lahore and IGLC Anka sailed out to sea Friday morning, while three more ships Umm Bab, Achilles-5 and Golden Pacific are expected to sail on same afternoon. Three ships CCNI Arauco, Hogu Schulte and Al-Salam-II carrying Containers and Diesel oil are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Friday, while Containers ships TG Poseidon, Oil tanker Distya Amiya and General Cargo carrier finesses and Pantanal are due to arrive at PQ on Saturday and an other oil tanker Broze and Express Black Sea are due to arrive Sunday.
