Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th july,2016) : Three ships C.V Maersk Salalah and M.T Bahra carrying containers and diesel oil were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Wednesday.

Meanwhile three more ship Daz Hong, BBC Vela and Maran Gas Asclepius with General Cargo and LNG also arrive at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours. Berth occupancy remained at the port at 475 on Wednesday where a total of seven berths were engaged by ships namely C.V Maersk Salalah, C.V CMA CGM Latravita, M.V Johar Express, M.V Glarus, M.V Viola, m.T Atlantic Glory and M.T Bahra to load/offload containers, cement, fertilizer, cola, chemicals, palm oil and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo handling remained upward trend at the prot at 118,619 tonnes, comprising 82,229 tonnes import cargo and 36,390 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2,973 containers (TEUs)(1,215 imports TUEs & 1,758 TUEs exports was handled at the port. Container ships C.V CMA CGM Latravita sailed out to sea on Thursday morning while another chemicals carried Atlantic Glory is expected to sail on same day afternoon. Four ships C.V CMA CGM Maussant, BBC Vela, Wavasan Emerald and Maran Gas Asclepius carrying containers, general cargo, chemicals and LNG are expected to take berths at QICT, MW-2, EVTL and EETL on Thursday.
