KP To Showcase Uplift Projects In Beijing Roadshow In March:CM

PESHAWAR (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Jan, 2017 ) :The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will show case its development projects and investment opportunities in a road show in China during the month of upcoming March.
The road show is aimed at attracting more and more Chinese investment to the Province. the Chief Minister KP Pervez Khattak said this at the 6th JCC on CPEC follow up meeting at the Planning Commission Islamabad Thursday.
The projects so showcased will include those pertaining to infrastructure, hydle power generation, industries and tourism. The Chief Minister said that under his directives and supervision the concerned provincial government organizations had already started preparations for the show.
He said that KP had not only vast investment opportunities in these and many more sectors but they had prepared a number of feasibilities for it. While appreciating the inclusion of Gilgit-Shandur-Chitral-Chakdara road in the CPEC, the Chief Minister KP also proposed that another road Gilgit-Bisham-Shangla-Swabai-Mardan and finally linking to M1, and/or another route from Gilgit, Besham, Shangla Khwazakhila, Swat Chakdara Peshawar, Kohat, D.I.Khan, Zhob, Quetta, Gwadar.
These he pointed out will not only share the future increase in traffic on the main corridor but can also be used as an alternate route in case of any problem on the KKH. In the same manner, Parvez Khattak also proposed 2nd rail route from Gilgit to Shandur-Swat and linking Dargai.
As from Dargai the track exists and by linking to M1, it can be further linked to Baluchistan via D.I Khan. The Chief Minister KP also disclosed that his province has already taken up its own transmission line with WAPDA so that the hydel energy produced there is provided on cheaper rates to the down-word country, therefore, he said that it also be included in the CPEC.
He also called for dualization of Indus Highway and Kohat to Jand projects and increase pace of work on the dualization of Indus High way. The Chief Minister also asked the Federal Government that the Province be informed about the dates for completion of different sections of CPEC.
Besides others, it was also decided in the meeting that like the main working group, more specific sector-wise working groups should be formed which too would meet on monthly basis so that the working of all stake holders are coordinated. APP/ayz/rn
