KP Sports Minister Distributed Cash Of Rs 0.2 Mln Among Needy Players

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Jan, 2017 ) : Minister for Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mehmood Khan Thursday distributed Rs 213,000 among most needed players and an ailing former national footballer Zahir Shah.
The distribution ceremony in this connect was held here at Lala Rafique Sports Arena with DG Sports KP Miss Rashida Ghaznavi, Director Youth Aziz Ullah Khan, Pakistan Volleyball team coaches Ikram and Khalid Waqar, coach Pakistan Wrestling Federation Abdul Qayyum, Director Sports BISE Manzar Khan, former international athlete Irfan Ullah Marwat, President KP Sports Writers Association Jehanzeb Siddique players and spectators were also present.
Speaking on this occasion, Mehmood Khan said that they have approved financial assistance to only seven players who applied for their own, while there are many more players, who have shown remarkable performances at Inter-Provincial, National and International levels, would be given cash incentives later on in another ceremony to be organized very soon.
He also directed DG Sports to prepare a complete list of the players (both male and female) who excelled and won medals or position for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa so that they could be awarded cash incentives.
About 2nd edition of the Under-23 Games, he said, the Games would be organized in February this year. In the first phase the Games would be organized at Inter-District level and in the second phase more than 7000 players would compete in 20 male and 15 female disciplines at Inter-Regional level.
He disclosed that a total of 35 grounds in as many Tehsil comprising Takhtbhai, Takht Nasrati, Karak, Hangu, Batkhela (Totakan), Chota Lahore, Tank, Allai, Lachi, Kohat (Babri Banda), Ghazi, Sari Saleh, Pattan, Hassanzai, Tangi, Shabqadar, Samar Bagh, Domel, Barikot, Babuzai, Sarai Nourang, Lakki Marwat, Kulachi, Paroa, Daraban, Turangzai, Havellian, Oghi, Lal Qilla (Maidan), Pabbi, Jahangira, Nowshera, Khawazakhela, Banda Daud Shah and Booni Chitral have been handed over to Directorate of Sports to hold their activities there.
The construction work on Qayyum Sports Complex, rehabilitation of existing sports facilities would be completed by June this year, he said. He also announced incensement in KP Sports Writers annual grant from Rs 0.2 million to Rs 0.5 million.
The Minister said it will be mandatory to organize Under-23 Games on the newly constructed grounds in all 35 Tehsil of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Later, the Minister awarded Rs 50,000 each to little master Hamza Roman (Tennis), Muhammad Hamad (Squash), ailing footballer Zahir Shah, Rs 15000 for Ismail Khan (Karate), Rs 10,500 to Muhammad Murad (Karate), Rs 7,500 to Israr Ahmad and Rs 30,000 to Karate team, winning bronze medal at national level.
Hamza Roman has made many supervises among one of becoming the National Under-10 Champion in no time by winning almost all tournament held under the aegis of Pakistan Tennis Federation at national level. Muhammad Hamad remained at Pakistan No. 1 in Under-9 and Under-11 categories.
