Khawaja Izhar Demands Province-wide Extension Of Powers To Rangers

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Jan, 2017 ) : Opposition leader in Sindh Assembly, Khawaja Izharul Hassan has demanded from the provincial government to grant extension of powers to Rangers across the province.
He said that a permanent decision be made regarding the powers of Rangers. While talking to media persons on the premises of Sindh Assembly, he said that it is beyond him that provincial cabinet meeting is convened and the issue of extension of powers to Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) is discussed as well agreed to extend the same but the decision is not acted upon.
He said that Pakistan People's Party's government wanted to limit the powers of Rangers to Karachi and expresses in its talks as, all is well in rural Sindh. He asked if Sindh Police are performing well in the rural areas then why PPP government not deploy them in the city.
Khuwaja, on a question, said that the permanent solution to law and order deteriorating situation is Police. The opposition leader also demanded strict action against what he termed economic terrorism and those who were involved in it. APP/rap/ms/rn
