PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Jan, 2017 ) : National Accountability Bureau (NAB) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tuesday arrested five senior officials of Telephone Industries of Pakistan (TIP) Limited, Haripur for their alleged involvement in illegal allotment of plots in TIP Housing Scheme.

NAB arrested Syed Rizwan Mehmood TIP's Secretary, Tahir Jan General Secretary, Muhammad Waseem Deputy Manager, Qazi Ibrar Deputy Manager and Zamruad Khan, Executive of TIP for causing a loss of Rs 360 million to public exchequer.

The Telephone Industries Pakistan Cooperative Housing Society/Housing Scheme is built on around 1025 Kanal land with approved Master Plan which further bifurcates between residential area 560 Kanal and area reserved for amenities 406 Kanal.

All plots at TIP Housing Scheme were allotted to TIP employees from 1991-2001 through Power of Attorney awarded to Chairman TIP Housing Scheme by the GM TIP.

The accused Syed Muhammad Hussain Shah Chairman TIP in connivance with Committee Members Syed Rizwan Mehmood, Tahir Jan, Muhammad Waseem, Qazi Ibrar and Zamruad Khan illegally changed the Master Plan without the approval of competent authority, illegitimately converted amenity sites into residential plots of different sizes i.e.

5, 7, 10 and 20 Marla and issued illegally 145 allotment letters in TIP Housing Scheme. It pertinent to mentioned that the accused Syed Muhammad Hussain Shah Chairman TIP has already been arrested in the instant case. The accused persons will be presented in the Accountability Court Peshawar for obtaining their physical remand.
