CM Orders Inquiry Into Fake Stents Implantation

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Jan, 2017 ) : Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif presiding over a meeting here on Monday to review in detail the matter of implantation of fake stents in heart patients in Mayo Hospital ordered an inquiry into the matter.
He constituted a committee headed by Chairman Chief Minister's Inspection Team. He took notice of the matter and ordered the committee to start work immediately,look into every aspect of the matter and submit a report within seven days.
Shehbaz Sharif directed strict implementation of ban on entry of unregistered vendors in the hospitals and said that no complaint should be received in this regard in future.
He said that model of Punjab Institute of Cardiology should be ensured by all the hospitals regarding stents implantation.
Provincial Minister for Specialized Health and Medical education Khawaja Salman Rafique, Secretary Specialized Health and Medical Education, Additional IG Special Branch and CEO Punjab Institute of Cardiology also attended the meeting while CEO Drug Regulatory Authority Pakistan and Director Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology were participating in the meeting through video link.
