Traffic Signals To Be Installed In Bahawalpur City

BAHAWALPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Jan, 2017 ) : Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Capt (Retd) Saqib Zafar Monday said traffic signals would be installed at 13 different places in Bahawalpur city with cost Rs 12.9 million.

He said under new traffic management project, the city traffic would be streamlined on modern scientific standards. The commissioner said signals would be installed at City Hotel Chowk (Model Town C), Lari Adda Chowk, Zoo Square, library Chowk, Capt Sohail Shaheed Chowk (Noor Mahal Road), the NLC Chowk, Gulberg Chowk (Model Town A), Welcome Chowk, Dubai Chowk, the DC Office Chowk, Saddar Pulli and One Unit Chowk.

He said historic gates had been reconstructed to bring back the beauty and grandeur of old walled city of Bahawalpur. He said Darbar Mahal Chowk had been inaugurated and opened for public to witness the exquisiteness of it.

A model of the mahal had been constructed at the wall to give view of the magnificent architecture, he added. He said Empress Railway Bridge over Sutlej River had been lit up with the colorful LED lights which would automatically turn on at night.

He said restoration of Patisar Lake at Lal Sohanra National Park was underway and migratory birds had started to arrive at the site after a lapse of 20 years.
