HED Provides Laptops To 54 Sikh Students

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Jan, 2017 ) : The Punjab government has introduced holistic reforms in the higher education sector to elevate it to international standards. Provincial Higher Education Minister Syed Raza Ali Gillani said this while addressing the laptops distribution ceremony in 54 male and female students of the Sikh community at Gurdwara Janam Asthan Nankana Sahib on Saturday.
The minister said that promotion of information technology was a step which had helped the students to improve their intellectual ken and strengthen their ideas and innovations. This facility has manifestly increased the learning potentials of students and empowered them intellectually, he added.
Raza Gillani said that equitable access to information technology was first step towards achieving the goal of technology-driven knowledge-economy.
The information technology helps determine future directions and provides understanding on how technology can best support both research and academic sides of the institution, he added.
Provincial Minorities Affair Minister Tahir Khalil Sindhu also spoke on the occasion and asked the students to make correct use of the facility of laptops to perform better in their studies. Later, Raza Gillani and Tahir Khalil Sindhu distributed laptops among the students. Several Sikh community leaders present there, thanked the punjab government for consolation of the students.
