Awareness Needed To Over Come Hepatitis: Experts

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Jan, 2017 ) : The health experts have pointed out that as many as 20 million people in the country are suffering from Hepatitis for which awareness about water, sanitation, health and precautionary measures are needed.
They were speaking at the concluding session of three-day workshop on recent trends in molecular diagnosis of viral diseases arranged by Molecular Care, University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) here on Saturday.
Addressing on the occasion, UAF Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan recommended to ensure clean environment, potable drinking water and food to fight the different diseases.
He said that prevention is better than cure so proper measures should be adopted to lead a healthy life, adding that changing lifestyle, junk food, un-healthy activities, over-eating and obesity were the root cause of many diseases.
Renowned medical doctor Zahid Yasin Hashmi said that every tenth person in the country was affected by the Hepatitis. He said that people were affected by the diseases due to ignorance, adding the ratio of the hepatitis patients in the villages was high. Dr Khalilur Rehman of UAF, Dr Amer Jamil of Biochemistry Department UAF also spoke in the session.
