LCCI Chief Vows To Protect Interests Of Business Community

Industry (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Jan, 2017 ) is committed to lessening problems of the trading community. It was stated by LCCI President Abdul Basit while talking to delegations of traders here at his chamber, led by Babar Mahmood.
The LCCI president informed the delegation that the Lahore Chamber also tries to secure a business-friendly environment through sharing views with the government. The Primary objective of LCCI is to protect the interests of the business community while remaining committed to the cause of development of the country.
There are a number of issues that must be tackled on priority, he added. Abdul Basit said the LCCI was also calling for early solution to the issues like double taxation, high number of taxes and duties, raids at business premises and bank account attachment etc, as economy cannot grow in the presence of such major issues.
He called for containing widening gap between exports and imports by reducing import of luxury items. He said the cut in the low input cost would make Pakistani products competitive in the international market where Pakistan was losing the international markets to China, India and even Bangladesh," he said adding that new markets and new products need to be explored to reduce country's dependence on few commodities and countries.
He said the LCCI is going to establish more than 100 sector specific standing committees which would collect private sector feedback, analyses and filter the same through experts.
