Rs 201,301.512 Million Spent On Roads Maintenance, Construction

(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Jan, 2017) Rs30,544.657 million on maintenance of national highways and motorways in the country during past three years, while it spent Rs170,756.855 million on construction of new highways and motorways.
An official of NHA told APP here on Thursday that in 2013-14, Rs4,947.074 million were spent on the maintenance of roads, in 2014- 15 it spent Rs14,179.660 million, and in 2015-16 Rs11,417.923 million were spent on the maintenance of motorways and highways.
He said in 2013-14 Rs1,367.709 million were spent in Punjab Rs747.204 million in Sindh Rs1,378.591 million were spent in KPK on the maintenance of highways, while Rs687.670 million were spent in the fiscal year on the maintenance of the motorways.
He said in 2014-15 Rs4,550.335 million were spent on Federal roads maintenance in the Punjab Rs3,609.212 million were spent in Sindh, Rs2,058.878 million in Balochistan, Rs2,759.656million in the KPK, while Rs17 million were spent on the maintenance of the roads in Gilgit-Baltistan.
He said Rs1,184.579 million were spent on the maintenance of the motorway network in the country in 2014-15. The NHA official said that the NHA spent Rs5,283 million on the maintenance of highways in the Punjab during fiscal year 2015-16, Rs1,557.
533 million in Sindh, Rs1,727.684 million in Balochistan, Rs2,140.786 million in KPK.
Moreover, Rs708.920 million were spent on the maintenance of motorways in 2015-16. Giving the province-wise breakup of the NHA expenditure on the construction of national highways and motorways in the country during past three years, he said that a total of Rs170,756.855 million were spent.
He said that a total of Rs43,147.573 million were spent in Punjab Rs22,082.276 million were spent in Sindh, Rs24,670.846 million in Balochistan, Rs36,665.550 million were spent in KPK, while Rs23,588.878 million were spent in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB).
He said in 2013-14 Rs13,127.114 million were spent in Punjab, Rs11,992.893 million were spent in Sindh, Rs7,084.225 million in Balochistan, Rs14,830.834 million in KPK and Rs10,440.611 million were spent in GB on construction of new roads.
In 2014-15, Rs8,378.014 million were spent in Punjab, Rs6,386.004 million were spent in Sindh, Rs5,458.833 million were spent in Balochistan, Rs6,699.767 million in KPK and Rs8,088.048 million in GB.
In 2015-16, Rs21,642 445 million were spent in Punjab, Rs3,703.379 million in Sindh, Rs12,127.788 million in Balochistan, Rs15,134.949 million in KPK, while Rs5,060.219 million were spent in GB.
