Senate Body For Inquiry Into Awarding Contract Of Airport

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Jan, 2017 ) : Sub-Committee of Senate Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat on Thursday directed Aviation Division to conduct an inquiry into awarding contract of renovation of Quetta International Airport.
The sub-committee met here at Parliament House under the chairmanship of Senator Kalsoom Perveen, Convener of the Sub- Committee. Member of the committee Senator Mir Muhammad Yousaf Badini also attended the meeting.
Secretary Aviation Division and other senior officials briefed the committee about the renovation work of Quetta International Airport Quetta. The committee expressed concerns over tempering in biding process of awarding contact on fake documentation to un-qualified company.
The committee said the issue of awarding contract should be investigated and responsibility should be fixed against the officials concerned. The officials of Aviation Division said an inquiry is underway into the matter, adding the inquiry should be submitted to the committee.
The sub-committee said millions of rupees financial embezzlement was proved in this project, adding the committee is making efforts to save this project. The committee further said in this regard recovery should be made from the responsible.
