Shipping Activity At Port Qasim

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Jan, 2017 ) : Four ships Maersk Denver, CMA CGM Uruguay, Pacific Energy and Igic Anka carrying containers, furnace oil and chemicals were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, FOTCO Oil terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Tuesday.
Meanwhile four more ships Maersk Stockholm, Harmony-1, Al-Salam-II and Maran Gas Delphi carrying Containers, Furnace oil, Diesel oil and LNG also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim (PQ) during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was observed at the port at forty percent on Tuesday where a total of six ships namely Maersk Denver, CMA CGM Uruguay, Black Pearl-110, Igic Anka, Grand Ace-1, Pacific Energy are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, LPG, palm oil and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood 108,466 tonnes, comprising 86,692 tonnes import cargo and 21,774 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,575 containers TEUs) 2,429 imports TUEs and 1,146 TUEs exports) was handled at the port.
Three ships Grand Ace-1, Black Pearl-110 and Maersk Denver are expected to sail on today afternoon. Four ships Maersk Stockholm, Han Hai-6, Han Hui and Maran Gas Delphi carrying Containers, Palm Oil, Project cargo and LNG are expected to take berths at QICT, LCT, MW-2 and EETL respectively on Wednesday, while Chemicals carrier YM Mirinda is due to arrive at Port Qasim on same day, and container ship CMA CGM Maupassant and Oil tanker Ashada are due to arrive on Thursday.
