District Members Portray Pathetic Condition Of Health And Education Sectors

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Jan, 2017 ) : The members of District Council Peshawar here held a detailed discussion on poor condition of health and education sectors and asserted that no significant improvement was brought in these sectors during the three-and-a-half-year regime of PTI led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.
During the meeting presided by Syed Qasim Ali Shah, opposition members Sartaj, Razaullah, Khalid Waqas and others alleged that condition in KP schools was poor as many of the schools even did not have sitting mats for the students and rain water seeps into the classrooms during rains.
Khalid Waqas said hundreds of girl students study in Chamkanai School that was built in 1940 and the provincial government did nothing to improve the condition of this school putting lives of students in jeopardy.
Member Unioin Council from Badhber said a category D hospital has been established in Badhber area with an estimated cost of Rs.
290 million and after a long wait the staff has also been deputed but still it lacks most of the basic facilities and area people were still deprived of its benefits.
He said if KP government paid proper attention towards this hospital, workload on city's other big hospitals could be minimize to a great extent. He invited the district Nazim and Naib Nazim to visit the suburban areas of their Constituencies to abreast themselves of the real situation.
He said if the elected district representative examined the ground situation in these areas, they would take back their promises made for the development of these neglected areas. He said the provincial government rather than making tall claims of change and development, should update its people regarding the real situation.
