KP Cabinet Approves Compensation Package For Slain MPAs

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th july, 2016) : Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet on Tuesday approved a special compensation package for members of provincial assembly (MPAs), who had been killed in terror attacks. The package would also cover the MPAs who, God forbids, become victim of terrorism in future, minister Shah Farman Khan told mediamen after the cabinet meeting.
Chief Minister Pervez Khattak chaired the meeting. According to package, the bereaved family of each assassinated MPA would get Rs 10 million compensation amount, besides Rs 5.5 million in case of possessing or not possessing a plot and educational expenditure of their children till attaining Masters degree. In case of ministers and advisors, the family members would also get the house rent till the completion of assembly tenure.
Shah Farman said the package would also be given to the bereaved family of Special Assistant to Chief Minister Sardar Soran Singh, who was killed in a targetted attack in Bunner district. He said the provincial government had given Rs 10 million each to the bereaved families of Dr Shamsher Ali and Provincial Minister for Law Israrullah Khan Gandapur, and Rs 5.5 million to the family of MPA Farid Khan. It may be mentioned that seven MPAs, including Special Assistant to Chief Minister Soran Singh, Minister for Law Israrullah Gandapur, Farid Khan, Bashir Bilour, Jamshaid Khan Mohmand and Alamzeb Khan were killed in KP during the last decade.
