Two-day Lahore Startup Conference From 26th

LAHORE, Jan 9 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 09th Jan, 2017 ) : MIT Enterprise Forum Pakistan (MITEFP) in collaboration with Information Technology University (ITU) is holding a two-day conference 'Startup Lahore' to be participated in by investors, entrepreneurs, mentors, speakers, tech companies and accelerators at Arfa Software Technology Park on January 26-27.
PITB Chairman and MITEFP, Dr. Umar Saif, said over 3000 attendees, 150 plus startups, and 30 plus investors would participate in the moot. He added that MITEFP was a global organization of dedicated professionals associated with Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) through MIT Technology Review and one of the 24 worldwide chapters looking to engage stakeholders of entrepreneurial ecosystem and make a difference through innovation and technology.
In order to realize these goals, MITEFP was hosting Startup Lahore. As regard to the event, he was of the view that in the last decade, Lahore had transformed itself into a technology hub. "With our startup and investor eco-system building up steam, Startup Lahore has come about at an opportune time.
This will be a fantastic opportunity for all entities to network and showcase our talented community". He mentioned that attendee, startup or investor passes were available on Startup Lahore website and the pass-holders would have access to workshops and seminars during the whole event.
Applications were now open for Startup Rumble, all interested groups could apply here: http://www.startuplahore.com One of the key features of Startup Lahore would be the Startup Rumble, he said and explained that it was a platform that would make it viable for entrepreneurs to submit a business idea of no more than 350 words.
All the ideas would be subject to vote. The finalists would be chosen on the basis of votes, highest number of votes, commercial viability of their business idea and the strength of their team, and would be invited to Lahore to present their ideas as well as a detailed business plan in front of a jury and the audience.
Startups would be competing for prize money of Rs one million and a chance to be accelerated at PlanX � a project of Punjab IT board. Dr. Umar Saif said the Conference would provide startups access to a network of investors and training opportunities for 'yet another business' to recognize their best potential.
"This is an initiative to shape the technology entrepreneurial landscape of Pakistan through activities that will stimulate entrepreneurship in youth, startups and corporations at the same time", he said and asserted that for Pakistan it was an initiative to train the next generation and stimulate entrepreneurship among the youth.
