Country Director ADB Calls On AGP

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th july, 2016) : Country Director of Asian development Bank (ADB) Werner Liepach here Tuesday called on Auditor General of Pakistan Rana Asad Amin and discussed matters related to conducting of bank funded projects' audit professionally and in accordance with international standards in the country. The meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere.

The ADB country Director requested the Auditor General for cooperation in audit of development projects sponsored by the Asian Development Bank in Pakistan, a statement issued by the AGP here said.

The Auditor General assured that audit will be conducted very professionally in accordance with the international standards and best practices.

The ADB country Director also expressed willingness to provide support to the Auditor General's Department in capacity building and training.

The Auditor General of Pakistan proposed that ADB may assist his department in implementing the Strategic Plan for 2015-19 in the interest of accountability, transparency and good governance. The ADB country director assured that he would consider the proposal for positive support.
