LAHORE, Jan 5 (Pakistan Point News - APP - 05th Jan, 2017 ) : The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday suspended operation of notification regarding extension in the suspension of Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU)'s Registrar Malik Munir Hussain. Justice Muhammad Farrukh Irfan Khan passed these orders on a petition filed by Registrar Malik Munir Hussain challenging the extension in his suspension. Earlier, petitioner's counsel arguing before the court submitted that the petitioner was suspended on issue of BZU Lahore Campus in January 2016.
He pointed out that the petitioner approached the court which ordered to complete the inquiry against him within sixty days. But despite passing a period of many months, no serious effort was made by the university authorities to conclude the inquiry and on December 30, 2016, the petitioner's suspension period was again extended, he added. He contended that the suspension over and above the stipulated period was void. He further pointed out that BZU syndicate approved the (Lahore) sub-campus by a majority decision while the petitioner was secretary to the syndicate and had no voting power.
He pleaded the court to set aside the orders for extension in suspension of the petitioner. The court after recording initial arguments suspended the operation of the notification regarding extension in the suspension of the petitioner and issued notice to BZU Vice Chancellor for January 18.
