Govt can't become silent spectator on problems of the masses: PM

Prime Minister Imran Khan was chairing a meeting called to discuss inflation and price hike in the country.

ISLAMABAD: (Urdu Point/Pakistan Point News-Feb 19th, 2020) Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday while directing to formulize a comprehensive roadmap to reduce prices of petroleum products as much as possible, said that the government cannot become a silent spectator over issues of the general public.

He said that while presiding over a meeting to reduce petrol and gas prices.

According to the details, Prime Minister Imran Khan has ordered countrywide action against food smuggling and directed the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) to keep an eye on the smuggling and submit report daily on regular basis.

Chairing a meeting, the PM directed the interior ministry, federal and provincial law enforcement agencies, Federal board of Revenue as well as the provincial governments to take immediate action against smuggling and submit a report within 48 hours.

Minister for National Food Security Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar, Minister for Planning Asad Omar, Adviser on Trade Abdul Razaq Dawood, interior secretary, National Food Security secretary, acting FBR chairman, provincial home secretaries and other senior officers were present there in the meeting .
