Minister Stresses Strict Monitoring Of Development Projects

SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 05th Jan, 2017 ) : Provincial Minister for Irrigation Amanat-Ullah Shadikhel has directed the officials of Irrigation Department to monitor the ongoing development projects and desilting process of canals, instead of sitting in offices.

Chairing a meeting here on Thursday along with Chief Engineer Irrigation Muhammad Aslam, SE Drainage Shahid Sultan, SE Lower Jhelum Canal Khalid Mehmood and other officials concerned, the minister ordered for emergency steps to improve performance of the department.

The chief engineer informed the meeting that the department had started desilting process of 287 kilometres long 46 canals. Tenders have been called for desilting of five canals of Khushab district, while in the second phase the task would be completed in district Gujrat's canal in the Sargodha zone.
