475 Patients Treated At Free Medical Camp In KP

ISLAMABAD, Jan 5 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 05th Jan, 2017 ) : A one-day free medical camp for women and children was organized in Touheed Abad locality near Wazir Bagh, Peshawar, KPK by the provincial health department and the Unicef.
As many as 475 patients visited the camp who were provided free of cost medical checkup and medicines, reported a private news channel. Three female doctors and a lady health worker attended the medical camp.
Due to the prolonged dry spells, large number of people particularly children had been suffering from different diseases such as cough, cold, throat and chest infections and flu, a medical officer said.
Free camp was organized because the residents of this locality were financially not sound and they could not afford treatment. Locals appreciated the health department for organizing the free medical camp and urged the government and health officials to organize such camps on regular basis and provide free treatment and medicines to the poor people.
