PTDC Launches Awareness Campaign To Facilitate Tourists

ISLAMABAD,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th july,2016) : Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) has launched its annual awareness campaign for the tourists to create aareness about the weather condition of the hilly areas including Naran, Gilgit, Swat and Kalam etc. Talking to APP, PTDC Deputy Director Anwar Sajid said "The main objective was to update tourists about factual conditions due to landslide resulting road blockage which leads tourists to wait for hours to reach at the desire destination." He said that local administration should take steps to facilitate tourits and tackle traffic issues in proper manner aimed at reducing their problems. "Moreover, he said "When thousands of cars reached at place where the capacity for only average traffic, local administration need proper strategy to tackle such sitations," he said.
He said that the Northern Areas, Murree and Galyat attracted a large number of tourists from various parts of the country during the season especially. Tourists who visit Tourists Information Centers for information purpose are provided proper guidenance and information about accomodation, weather condition of various hilly areas, he said.
The PTDC is runing several hotels and motels at various places in the northern areas as well as few in the southern part of the country.
PTDC motels offer a standardized services and can be graded as three-star motels, he said. PTDC Tourists Information Centres, Hotels and Motels throughout Pakistan attracting domestic and international tourists, he said.
Plan to produce publicity and promotional material for distribution at home and abroad besides conducting promotional programmes, activities and events to attract tourists has been finalised, he said. PTDC would ensure to create awareness of tourism through private sector, Pakistan Missions abroad, PIA offices, tour operators, travel agents and hoteliers, the official said. PTDC would also hold conferences, seminars, and workshops for creating awareness and promotion of tourism industry of the Pakistan.
