Industry Pollution Causing Health Risk

SARGODHA,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th july,2016) : A lot of small and medium industries situated in populated areas of the city, are causing dust and noise pollution. The residents urged the authorities concerned to take action against illegal industries at urban areas, as no check was being made by the district administration. Commercial activities are increasing at more than 600 small and medium industries including soap, furniture, leather, shoe, cosmetics and toy manufacturing factories situated in islam pura, Milat Abad, Gill wala, Iqbal colony, Tariq Abad, Istaqlalabad and other areas. A resident Nasir Sial talking to this scribe said that these factories were causing polution for the residents and creating other problems during the day.
He said the people were moving to other locations due to traffic and pollution problems in these areas while a new factory was also being set up at a vacant house. The businessmen are giving priority to start their work at rental homes to avoid tax and investment, he added. The other residents urged the authorities concerned to adopt a proper mechanism for setting up heavy industries in the urban areas and demanded to take action against the people involved in this illegal activity.
