As of 06:14 GMT, the Shanghai Composite fell 2.95 percent, while the Shenzhen Composite dropped 3.8 percent. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index fell about 2 percent to 27,773.19.

Local stocks continue to be affected by news about the spread of Novel Coronavirus within China and beyond, which poses risks for a number of sectors of the world's second-largest economy.

According to the latest data, more than 570 cases of the disease have been confirmed in 25 Chinese provinces, and 17 people have died. In addition to Hong Kong and China, the virus has also been registered in the United States, Macau, Taiwan, South Korea, Thailand and Japan.
