Russian Media Watchdog Blocks Dutch Internet Service Over Fake Bomb Threats

Russian media watchdog Roskomnadzor on Thursday blocked Dutch internet service startmail.com over thousands of fake bomb threats plaguing Russian schools and hospitals

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 23rd January, 2020) Russian media watchdog Roskomnadzor on Thursday blocked Dutch internet service startmail.com over thousands of fake bomb threats plaguing Russian schools and hospitals.

"On January 23, based on the request by the Russian Prosecutor General, Roskomnadzor blocked access to mail service startmail.com (the Netherlands) in Russia," the agency said.

Earlier in the day, the Federal Security Service said that more than 1,000 anonymous bomb threats had been sent to court institutions in 16 Russian regions from the service since November 28, 2019. Fake bomb threats have also targeted schools, nursery schools, hospitals, shopping malls and public transport.
