Labour Deptt Extends Financial Assistance Of Rs 2.5 Mln To Labourers

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Jan, 2020 ) :Labour department extended financial assistance of Rs 2.5 million to families of labourers in connection with marriage assistance and deceased labourers.
Director Labour Welfare Department Rana Jamshaid Farooq talking to APP stated that Rs 15 lakh was given to heirs of three deceased labourers, (five lakh to each family). Similarly, 10 labourers were given marriage assistance of Rs one lakh each.
When questioned about criteria for assistance, Jamshaid Farooq informed that the labourers should have Identification Card (ID) and Card of Employees Old Age Benefit Institution (EOBI). These two documents are necessary for issuance of grants to labourers. For marriage grants, the labourers should have "Nikkah Nama", he stated.
Responding to another question, Jamshaid Farooq maintained that Labour Department also provide funds to kids of labourers, studying in different educational institutes.
