Remains Of Second Plane Crash Victim Repatriated To Canada - Parliamentary Secretary

TORONTO (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 23rd January, 2020) The remains of a second Canadian who died in the recent plane crash in Iran will be repatriated today, Parliamentary Secretary Omar Alghabra told reporters on Wednesday.

"I know there's a second [body], either on its way or just landed," Alghabra said.

Alghabra also said all the families of 15 Canadian nationals and permanent residents intend to repatriate the remains of their loved ones to Canada, while 61 Canadians or permanent residents have already been buried in Iran according to the families' wishes.

On January 8, Ukrainian International Airlines flight 752 was shot down by an Iranian surface-to-air missile shortly after takeoff from Tehran Imam Khomeini International Airport. 167 passengers including 57 Canadian citizens and 29 permanent residents and all 9 Ukrainian crew members perished in the tragedy.
