France's Macron Flies To Israel On Wednesday For Talks With Israeli, Palestinian Leaders

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 22nd January, 2020) French President Emmanuel Macron will fly to Israel on Wednesday for talks with senior Israeli and Palestinian officials.

This will be Macron's first official visit to Israel since becoming president almost two years ago. He will also travel to the Palestinian territories.

The trip is timed to the World Holocaust Forum in Jerusalem, a disputed city claimed as capital by both Israel and Palestine. Russian, German, Austrian and Italian leaders are attending.

Macron is expected to hold talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian National Authority's chief Mahmoud Abbas.

The French president will be accompanied on his two-day tour by Interior Minister Christophe Castaner and Culture Minister Jean-Michel Blanquer.
