Finance, Science,technology, Culture To Be Brought Under CPEC: Envoy

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th july,2016) : Chines Ambassador to Pakistan, Sun Weidong said on Tuesday that cooperation in fields finance, science and technology and culture would be brought under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) framework to harvest more social and economic gains for mutual benefits of the people of both friendly countries. Talking to media after attending the inaugural session of launching of China-Southern Airlines Introduction and Recommendation, he said, currently, the CPEC was mainly focusing on four sectors of economic cooperations including infrastructure development and energy generation, which would help in economic uplift of both the countries. "The cooperation under CPEC initiative would be extended to other sectors in future," he added. He said, the cooperation would be expanded to finance, science and technology, crafts and culture in order to further boost the bilateral trade and economic relations of two brotherly countries. Sun Weidong said, the multi billion Dollars economic uplift projects being carried out and implemented under the CPEC were progressing smoothly. "It was matter of great satisfaction that the CPEC projects were fully supported and owned by all stakeholders including the leadership, governments and people of both the countries," he added.
He said, the projects would equally benefit the people of both countries as well as the region and open new avenues of social and economic cooperation and development. The Ambassador said, in order to enhance people to people contacts besides harmonizing them with each others cultures, the Chinese government had also established a culture center in Pakistan. Dr.
Weidong said, several working groups had been formed for swift implementation of projects progressing under CPEC initiatives, which were meeting regularly in order to assess the implementation status of the projects. Earlier addressing the ceremony, the Ambassador said, the CPEC would not only benefit China and Pakistan but it would also be beneficial for the entire region besides playing an important role for the prosperity and development. He said, regular flights between Pakistan and China have been started and added, it is expected that number of flights would also be extended during the days to come. The Ambassador said, the initiative would help in further boosting bilateral trade and people to people contacts, besides it would also expedite CPEC projects.
