World Hepatitis Day To Be Observed On Thursday

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th july,2016) : The World Hepatitis day would be observed on Thursday, 28 July worldwide including Pakistan which aims to raise global awareness about hepatitis and its prevention. Hepatitis is a group of infectious diseases known as Hepatitis A,B,C,D, and E - and this day encourage its prevention, diagnosis and treatment, a private news channel reported.
Hepatitis affects hundreds of millions of people worldwide, causing acute and chronic disease and killing close to 1.4 million people every year. The theme for this year's hepatistis day is "Prevent Hepatitis: It's up to you" and theme for global campaign is 'ELlMINATION '.
At the World Health Assembly in May, WHO Member States are set to adopt the first ever Elimination Strategy for Viral Hepatitis, with ambitious targets and a goal to eliminate hepatitis as a public health threat by 2030.
