Shopkeepers Fined For Overcharging

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th july, 2016) : City District Government Lahore (CDGL) during its drive against overcharging, challaned 33 shopkeepers besides imposing fine worth Rs 31,000 on violators of price Act, here on Monday. CDGL Special Price Control Magistrates conducted raids on 967 shops in various areas of the city and inspected price of commodities at local level.
As many as 94 persons were got arrested out of which 32 were sent to prison for three days after summary trial on the spot. CDGL also lodged 56 FIRs against the violators of Price Law in various police stations. DCO Capt. (R) Muhammad Usman issued directions to the Town Administrators to continue crack down against the profiteering to provide relief to the masses.
