11th Board Of Directors Meeting Of PSQCA Chaired By Rana Tanveer

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th july, 2016) : The 11th meeting of board of Directors of PSQCA was held at Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority, PSQCA-Complex, Gulistan-e-Johar, under the Chairmanship of Federal Minister for Science & Technology Rana Tanveer Hussain.

A PSQCA statement on Monday said that Secretary, Fazal Abbas Maken, also attended the meeting. It said the Minister appreciated the efforts of PSQCA management regarding quality culture enhancement in the country.

He also lauded the recent actions taken by PSQCA sealing 21 factories in the last two months. The Director General of PSQCA, Muhammad Khalid Siddiq, gave a formal briefing about the present issues and working of PSQCA and the Federal Minister appreciated their efforts.

The Minister categorically rejected any compromise on quality control issue in the country. He also appreciated PSQCA for playing a vital role to spread awareness among public about quality culture in Pakistan.

He stated that PSQCA is endeavouring hard to ensure the stoppage of un-registered and sub-standard products and added that special attention is being given to the improvement of industrial standardization, enhancement of the standard of products in the country.

The Minister showed keen interest in the working and performance of the PSQCA and assured his full support in increasing the effectiveness of the authority. The Minister, however, directed that PSQCA must enhance its capacity both in terms of labs as well as manpower.

He emphasized on the increased attention towards market surveillance and directed Director General, PSQCA to take necessary measures for sealing of units involved in production of sub-standards and quality products. The BoD meeting was also attended by other members of the Board alongwith Engr. M.A. Jabbar and Ghulam Umer Kazi, Secretary, PSQCA.
