Finance Ministry Denies Rumors About Demonetizing Of 5000 Note

ISLAMABAD, (Pakistan Point News – 26th Dec, 2016) : Spokesman of the Ministry of Finance has categorically denied the news reports and rumors circulating in a section of media and some business circles regarding demonetization of 5000 rupee note. In a statement, he said Government has neither taken such a decision nor was there any justification for the discontinuation of 5000 rupee note. Last year 17% of the notes printed were of 5000 rupee denomination. Government believes discontinuation of 5000 rupee note would adversely affect the efficiency of exchange in the business.
