More Rains Expected In Next 3 Days

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th july, 2016) : Met Office predicted more monsoon rains during next 3 days at a number of places in the country. Spokesman of Met-Office said good monsoon currents are likely to penetrate in upper and central parts of the country in next 48 hours.
Due to good monsoon incursion, rain/thunderstorm with isolated heavy falls is expected at a number of places in Islamabad, Punjab, FATA, KP and Kashmir from Tuesday to Thursday. While rain/thunderstorm is also expected at isolated places of Gilgit-Baltistan, Sindh and Eastern parts of Balochistan (Zhob, Sibi, Naseerabad, Kalat divisions) during the same time span, he told APP.
Expected heavy downpour may cause flash flooding and landslides in the vulnerable areas of Punjab, KP, GB and Kashmir.
Rain coupled with glacier melt water may result in GLOF events in vulnerable areas of Chitral and Gilgit-Baltistan. The concerned authorities and communities are advised to remain alert during the period, particularly on Wednesday and Thursday.
