DFID Delegation Calls On KP Police Chief

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th july, 2016) : A four-member British delegation of Department for International Development (DFID) called on the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Nasir Khan Durrani at his office CPO Peshawar on Monday.
The delegation was led by Susan Anne. The IGP briefed the delegation about the different initiatives taken in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police under the reforms agenda which include Identity verification system (IVS), Vehicle Verification System (VVS), Criminal Record Verification System (CRVS) and public welfare projects like Police Assistance Lines (PAL) and Dispute Resolution Councils (DRCs).
The IGP further informed the delegation that due to these projects not only the public has been facilitated but it has also restored the much needed confidence of the public on police.
The delegation was informed that petty issues of the public are being resolved through Dispute Resolution Councils at local levels with the active participation of the community.
The members of the delegation took keen interest in the different projects launched by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police and assured their full support and cooperation for making it more beneficial in the larger interest of public.
On this occasion the delegation also offered its support to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police capacity building especially in the fields of investigation and detecting and defusing of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).
