ISLAMABAD, (Pakistan Point News - APP - 25th july,2016) : The Federal Flood Commission (FFC) has said that river Indus is flowing in Low Flood at Kalabagh and Guddu Barrage. According to daily FFC report, other main rivers including River Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi and Sutlej are flowing normal. The actual river flows and reservoir elevations indicates that Tarbela & Mangla reservoirs are at elevations of 1516.01 feet and 1229.05 feet respectively, which are 33.
99 feet & 12.95 feet below their respective Maximum Conservation Levels of 1550.00 feet and 1242.00 feet. The combined live storage capacity of Tarbela, Chashma & Mangla reservoirs is 10.991MAF as compared to last year's 12.671 MAF. According to Flood Forecasting Division, Lahore, marked Seasonal Low continues to prevail over Northern Balochistan. Weak moist current from Arabian Sea is penetrating into upper parts of the country upto 5000 feet and likely to intensify.
As predicted by the Flood Forecasting Division, Lahore, isolated thunderstorm/rain is expected over the upper catchments of all major rivers including Rawalpindi, Gujranwala & Lahore Divisions including Northeastern Balochistan during the next 24 hours. Scattered thunderstorm/rain with isolated heavy falls may occur over the upper catchments of all major rivers including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Northern Punjab & D.G.Khan Division, besides, Northeastern Balochistan during the next 48 hours. Significant rainfall events as reported by the Flood Forecasting Division, Lahore during the past 24 hours include; Phulra = 42 mm, Palote = 23 mm, Palandri = 20 mm, Muzaffarabad = 19 mm, Jhelum = 17 mm, Shinkiari = 13 mm and Murree = 10 mm.
