Pak-India Softball Series To Commence In April Next Year

KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Dec, 2016 ) : The Pakistan-India softball series would commence in April next year. This was decided in a meeting held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, between secretary General of Softball Federation of Pakistan (SFP), Asif Azeem, and Chief Executive Officer of Softball Association of India (SAI), Dr.
Pravin Anaokr. Syed Shujauddin, executive member of SFP, and Lekh Ray Mourya of SAI, were also present on the occasion, says a message received here on Monday. Asif Azeem appreciated the efforts of Secretary General of International Softball Federation, Dato Low Beng Choo, and Secretary General of Softball Confederation Asia, Sally Lim, towards the Pak- India softball series.
He said that in the first phase, Pakistani women softball team would visit India and play a five matches series in Amritsar.
The India softball team would visit Pakistan in November next year and play five-match series in Karachi and Lahore.
Asif Azeem was of the view that the series would help promote the game and would proved to be a milestone. He said that with the visit of the Indian team, international softball event would commence in Pakistan.
Later, teams of Iran, Iraq and Nepal would be invited to play in Pakistan. Asif Azeem said that being host, our efforts would be to organize the series in a befitting manner. The officials of the two countries agreed that for the holding of the series written permission would be sought from their respective governments. APP/rak/msk/mdi
