NEW DELHI, (Pakistan Point News – 16th Dec, 2016) : A bench headed by Chief Justice TS Thakur also said that the Center's decision to ban beards in the Air Force does not infringe upon fundamental rights. Supreme Court said that a beard is not acceptable for anyone in the Indian Air Force, no matter what religion, even Muslims. Supreme Court dismissed the petition of a Muslim officer who was sacked in 2008 for keeping beard for being a Muslim. Aftab Ahmed claimed that like Sikhs it is his fundamental right and religious freedom. Mohammed Zubair and Ansari Aaftab Ahmed had moved court against a "confidential" order in 2003 banning beards.
